Please note:
- Unfortunately, we cannot provide individual medical advice. If you have a question relating to symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of an eye condition, the best thing to do is discuss with your optometrist or ophthalmologist, who will be able to assist with advice and the best treatments specific to your individual situation.
- CERA does not run an ophthalmology clinic. We are a medical research institute and unfortunately cannot facilitate private consultations with patients. If you are wanting to book an appointment with one of our doctors, please contact their private clinics.

Research integrity, complaints and feedback
CERA brings hope to people affected by vision loss and blindness.
Our staff and students are committed to the highest standards of ethical behaviour and research integrity.
CERA takes seriously all concerns, complaints, and allegations.
We want our trial participants, partners, donors, supporters, staff, students, and the wider community to feel comfortable in letting us know about any perceived misconduct and unprofessional behaviour.
This might be activity that you feel does not meet our values or breaches our codes of conduct or research integrity. This includes criminal activity, dishonesty and unethical behaviour, discrimination, bullying and harassment.
We encourage anybody with concerns to lodge a complaint through the Whispli platform.
A case manager is appointed for every issue raised. You remain anonymous unless you choose to disclose your identity.
We ask that allegations be made in good faith, confidentially and without malice.
We will keep complainants updated about the process.
If you have a concern about research conduct at another institution, it is best to directly go to that institution’s equivalent research integrity office.
For further information, visit CERA’s research integrity page.
