Join pioneering ocular gene therapy researcher Professor Jean Bennett and CERA scientists for an enlightening discussion about the sight-saving potential of gene therapy at the 15th annual Gerard Crock Lecture.
Professor Bennett is an international authority on the development of gene therapies to treat inherited retinal diseases, which are the most common cause of blindness in working-age people. She has received numerous international awards including the prestigious Champalimaud Vision Award.
Hear about Professor Bennett’s role leading pivotal research that led to the development of the world’s first approved ocular gene therapy – Luxturna, a treatment for a rare genetic form of childhood blindness Leber Congenital Amaurosis.
Learn about the potential of gene therapy research to transform the lives of people with blinding eye diseases – including the innovative research that is happening here in Melbourne.
