Happy birthday Lions Eye Donation Service!
July 2021 marks the Lions Eye Donation Service’s 30th birthday.
Such a milestone birthday deserves a celebration, so LEDS held a small get together of current and past team members, supporters and colleagues who have helped LEDS grow into one of Australia’s largest providers of donated eye tissue for transplant and medical research.
Since it opened in July 1991, the Lions Eye Donation Service (LEDS) has helped restore the sight of more than 10,000 people undergoing corneal transplant.
Today we celebrated 30 years of giving sight with a small gathering, sharing research achievements, important breakthroughs, the support of the Lions clubs – and, of course, acknowledged the incredible generosity of eye donors.
